How to Use the Mixing Control (Text-to-Mix)

Forget faders and knobs! With Sonic Canvas, you control your mix by typing simple commands. Think of it like chatting with your own personal audio engineer.

1. Locate the Mixing Control Input: You'll see a text box on your mixing interface. This is where the magic happens.

2. Type Your Commands: Simply type in what you want to change about your track. The AI will interpret your text and adjust the mix.

Here are some examples of what you can type:

• Volume Changes:
  • make the drums louder
  • lower the bass volume
  • vocals slightly quieter
  • bring up the synth
• Effects:
  • add reverb to the lead guitar
  • put a delay on the vocals
  • add some echo to the snare
  • make the whole track sound wider
• Panning (Left/Right Placement):
  • pan the hi-hats to the left
  • move the piano to the right
• Tonal Adjustments:
  • make the bass warmer
  • brighten up the cymbals
• General Instructions:
  • make the mix punchier
  • clean up the vocals
  • create a spacious feel
  • fade out the entire song

3. Experiment and Refine: The AI learns from your commands! Try different phrasings. If it doesn't get it quite right the first time, try rephrasing your command. For example, instead of "make it louder," try "increase the volume of the drums."

Pro Tips for Text-to-Mix:

• Be specific: The more detail you give, the better the result. Instead of "more bass," try "boost the low end of the bass guitar."
• Use common audio terms: Words like "reverb," "delay," "chorus," "pan," "EQ," "compress" will be understood well.
• Focus on one change at a time: Especially when starting out, make one adjustment, listen, then make another.
